In the Community
Christmas Hamper Success Story - 2022
Ultra Shine believes strongly in supporting the communities we live and work in. Whether it’s volunteering for Santa’s Anonymous Delivery Days each year, sponsoring kids’ rec teams, supporting Make-A-Wish, or donating sanitation services to vulnerable populations when the Covid-19 Pandemic began; Ultra Shine is ready to jump on any opportunity to make a difference in our community. In our process of planning for the upcoming 2023 year, we decided we wanted to structure our community involvement a little bit more. Of course, we will still do ad-hoc initiatives and take opportunities as they arise, but we also wanted to implement a quarterly community initiative to make a more structured, consistent difference in our communities. More importantly, we didn’t want to do it solo. Ultra Shine found it would be best to partner up with one of our customers for each of these initiatives and work to not only strengthen our partnership but improve our reach while making a difference in our collective communities.
We also didn’t want to wait until the new year to begin so we did our very first community partnership initiative this last quarter of 2022! With the holidays a big focus, we decided that organizing a Toy Drive would be a great first initiative. We immediately had a partner fit in mind, TransAlta Tri Leisure Centre!
We reached out to get their thoughts on the toy drive and see if they would partner with us. Tri Leisure Centre was more than happy to partner for this great cause and suggested collecting for the Spruce Grove Kinettes Christmas Hampers as they operate directly in our customer’s community of Spruce Grove and East Parkland.
We immediately went to work organizing, creating the collection box, creating posters and informing our network. We hoped it was going to be a success but we weren’t sure what to expect. We didn’t want to set our expectations too high to later be disappointed. Well, we are happy to announce we were not disappointed with our very first community initiative! We were soon getting calls saying the box was overflowing and we needed to send someone to collect the toys and not just once!
Ultra Shine, TriLeisure Centre and the Spruce Grove Kinettes are overjoyed at what we were able to accomplish with our first community initiative and the impact we were able to have in the community!
